Reflection on Standard
Although science is defined by objectivity, teachers must recognize that science is a socially and culturally-constructed human endeavor. Student's need to understand the contextual content of science in order to appreciate how we know what we know today. By humanizing scientists and the nature of science, it gives student's confidence in their creativity and abilities to contribute to the field.
