This assessment demonstrates the candidate’s effect on student learning in science. Effectiveness in meeting the standard is assessed by the candidate’s analysis of student performance data from teaching in the field experience and internship. Science topics include: understanding major concepts, principles, theories, and laws of science; the unifying concepts of science, the nature of science, student engagement in inquiry; an analysis of issues related to science and technology, and the impact of science on students and the community.
